We’re excited to announce a major milestone for Korea’s space industry! 🚀
WorkerInSpace has officially signed Korea’s first Letter of Intent (LOI) for in-orbit servicing with KT SAT, marking a pivotal step toward commercial satellite life-extension services.
Since April, both companies have worked closely to explore technical and commercial collaboration opportunities. The LOI confirms that KT SAT has expressed its intent to purchase in-orbit servicing—such as orbital and attitude control, refueling, and satellite repair—for satellites it currently operates or plans to operate, following the successful demonstration of WorkerInSpace’s technology.
Who we are:
Founded in January 2024 by aerospace professor Haedong Kim, WorkerInSpace is Korea’s first space startup dedicated to satellite life extension and in-space manufacturing. We opened our R&D center in Sejong City earlier this year and are now actively raising our Pre-A round to launch Korea’s first servicing satellite, VEROS-1, by 2028.
What’s next:
With this LOI, VEROS-1 is set to demonstrate key servicing capabilities on KT SAT’s retired satellite in orbit—a crucial step toward global commercialization.
