A new wave of space startups in South Korea is gaining attention as the country embraces the New Space Era led by private innovation. Among them, WorkerInSpace, founded by aerospace professor Haedong Kim, is developing robotic satellites capable of refueling, repairing, and repositioning orbiting satellites.

With the integration of AI and digital twin technology, WorkerInSpace aims to provide autonomous, precision on-orbit servicing. Despite being in its early stage, the startup has already secured over 2.0 billion KRW in investment and is positioning itself for entry into the growing orbital servicing market, projected to reach over 6 trillion KRW by 2030.
